This study focuses on the identification and protection of heritage assets within the parish of Ponsanooth, with the aim of integrating them into the Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP). The study has five key tasks: (1) identifying heritage assets, both designated and non-designated, and compiling a gazetteer to inform local heritage listing decisions; (2) drafting criteria for community-led selection of non-designated heritage assets for a Local Heritage List; (3) preparing a Character Statement for Ponsanooth and other settlements affected by development; (4) characterizing the parish’s historic environment and assessing key issues impacting it; and (5) suggesting the broad content of NDP policies to protect and enhance heritage assets and historic landscape character.
